Blood Donation Camp

01 August, 2022

NSS VGEC of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College organised a Blood Donation Camp on 1st August, 2022. Thousands of individuals rely on donated blood and blood products every day to be healthy or even to stay alive. Patients require blood to survive operations, cancer treatment, chronic diseases, and catastrophic traumas. Blood donation is crucial because it permits health care organisations to have blood and blood products accessible to complement the rising demands of patients who require emergency medical attention. Donating blood is a community responsibility since blood banks are local entities that serve local hospitals to address local needs.

As responsible citizens, NSS VGEC arranged this camp with the assistance of the Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. More than 100+ people donated their blood including the teachers and students of VGEC. In total, 102 units of blood were donated. Each donor was given a certificate and a memento to give value to their participation. At the end, nutritious refreshments were distributed among participants. The aim of this camp was to inspire people to donate blood and social work for mankind as this could save lives of many people. The camp ended successfully with its message, “The blood is replaceable but life isn't, so donate blood”.
