CHEMOTSAV 2K23

Chemical Engineering Department organized CHEMOTSAV 2K23, a technical and non-technical festival on 11th April 2023. The festival provided a platform for the department students to showcase their skills and creativity, and foster a spirit of healthy competition and learning among them.

The festival comprised of several technical events such as Chem-Mystry, Chem-o-Brainic, and Chem-O-Concepts. These events enabled the students to showcase their knowledge and expertise in the field of chemical engineering. In addition, non-technical events such as Tug of War, Chess, and Badminton were also organized. These events helped the students build camaraderie and team spirit.  The festival was a grand success, with the students participating enthusiastically in all the events. The winners were felicitated, and their achievements were applauded. The festival not only provided a platform for the students to showcase their skills but also helped them learn from their peers and gain exposure to new ideas.

 

CHEM-O-CONCEPT

The event CHEM-O-CONCEPT focused on three thrust areas, including designing an efficient and cost-effective method for purifying water for drinking, developing a process for converting biomass into a usable form of energy, and designing a system to recycle industrial waste into usable products. 27 participants took part in the event.  Prof. Parin D. Shah and Prof. Bina K. Sheth coordinated the event with Miraj Patel as a student coordinator.

 

CHEM-O-BRAINIC

CHEM-O-BRAINIC, a quiz competition based on chemical engineering, was held to encourage students to expand their knowledge and interests. The competition included three rounds, including a written round based on general knowledge and chemistry, a pictorial round based on chemical engineering, and a buzzer round based on chemical engineering.

Prof. Suchen B. Thakore and Prof. Ujvala P. Christian coordinated the event, along with student coordinators Milan Patel and Pranjal Chauhan.

 

CHEM-MYSTRY

CHEM-MYSTRY was a thrilling event that brought together 116 participants in a treasure hunt adventure. The event consisted of teams of up to five students who were given hints to locate clues leading to the final treasure. The teams had to collaborate and use their problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and obstacles along the way.

The event was organized by Faculty coordinators, Prof. Sunil R. Patel and Prof. Jay B. Trivedi, and student coordinator, Lekha Thanki. The event was a huge success, and the participants enjoyed the challenge of solving the riddles, puzzles, and tasks that were assigned to them.

CHESS

48 participants from various institutes took part in the Chess Competition. The event was coordinated by Prof. Zoher Z. Painter and Prof. Rakesh R. Merchant, along with student coordinator Harshil Patel.

BADMINTON

84 players from various institutes took part in a highly anticipated Badminton competition. The objective of the game was to hit the shuttlecock in such a way that the opponent was unable to return it, scoring a point in the process. Matches were typically played to 21 points, with the winner being the first player or team to reach that score.

The organizing team of the event was led by faculty coordinators, Prof. Sonal B. Prajapati, and Prof. Rakesh R. Merchant, and student coordinators, Bhavan Sheth & Yashil Kanani.

 

TUG of WAR

The Tug of War event was a highly competitive and exciting competition that drew in a large number of participants and spectators. The event was organized by Prof. Yogesh J. Morabiya, along with the help of student coordinator Deep Patel. 91 participants were divided into 13 teams of 7 members each, with each team displaying excellent strength and teamwork. The matches were closely contested, and the crowd cheered loudly for their favourite teams. The winning team, consisting of Param Barad, Hardik Lodhari, Vishal Parmar, Harsh Savaliya, Ramji Odedara, Brijesh Badiyavadara, and Anand Gadhe, was elated, and there was a lot of excitement and celebration among their supporters. The runners-up also congratulated the winners and showed great sportsmanship.

 

ENGINEER’S GOT TALENT

The Engineer's Got Talent event was an impressive showcase of the talents of local students. The event was organized with the aim of providing a platform for students to display their skills and to promote local talent. The event featured a variety of acts, including singers, dancers, comedians, and instrumental performers. The talent show provided a great opportunity to everyone to showcase their skills and gain exposure. The event was well-attended, and the audience was pleased with the performances.

The event was organized by a team of coordinators, including faculty coordinator Prof. Sonal B. Prajapati and student coordinator Manisha Parekh.
