The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC) organized a series of events as part of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign from the 13th to the 15th of August. These events included a rangoli-making competition, a digital poster-making competition, a quiz on the "Indian Independence Movement," and a tiranga rally to celebrate India's 78th Independence Day. The main goal of these events was to promote patriotism and unity among the students.
Day 1 : 13th August, 2024
The series of events commenced with a Rangoli-making competition, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The vibrant and creative rangolies symbolized national pride and cultural diversity. The themes for the rangoli-making competition were "India : Then and Now," "Indian Cuisine and Culture," and "India's Scientific Achievements". Participants were assessed based on their demonstration of creativity, originality, and their ability to convey the theme effectively.
Simultaneously, a Digital poster-making competition was held, encouraging students to showcase their artistic skills using digital tools. The theme focused on "Patriotism and National Unity." The competition aimed to enhance student's creativity and awareness of national values in the digital age.
Day 2 : 14th August, 2024
An Online Quiz Competition was organized, covering topics related to Indian history and freedom struggle. Over 800 participants from diverse departments actively engaged in the quiz. The quiz aimed to educate and test the participants' knowledge of India’s freedom fighters and independence movement.
Day 3 : 15th August, 2024
The series of events concluded with a rally after the flag-hoisting ceremony at the VGEC campus. The flag-hosting ceremony included a speech by the Principal Dr. V. S. Purani, emphasizing the importance of national pride and the role of youth in nation-building. The patriotic song was sung by the NCC cadet. After that tiranga rally was conducted involving NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, other students and staff from all departments of VGEC. The rally aimed to spread the message of national integration and the importance of flying the national flag at every home. Participants carried flags and banners, marching through the campus with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. Special thanks to the Principal of VGEC Dr. V. S. Purani sir for his support and guidance throughout the event.
