FlagHunt Workshop and CTF Challenge on Cyber Security

FlagHunt: An Interactive Workshop & CTF Challenge on Cyber Security, organized by The Cyber Force (TCF), Information Technology Department, VGEC in collaboration with CAWACH Kendra, was held on 10-11 March 2026. The event combined hands-on learning with a thrilling Capture The Flag challenge, testing participants' skills in cybercrime investigation.

  • Type: a hands-on workshop on Cyber Matrix Manual followed by an intense Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge.

Introduction

A hands-on training session on Cybercrime Investigation was conducted as part of FlagHunt, equipping students with practical skills in investigating cybercrimes. The workshop combined expert-led sessions with interactive exercises, bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.

Inauguration

The workshop started with a welcome address by TCF core members and a felicitation ceremony to honour the guests and faculty members.Students were introduced to the purpose and structure of the workshop & CTF.

Day 1: workshop

  • FlagHunt workshop kicked off with 2 expert speakers introducing the event.
  • Hands-on training session on cybercrime investigation techniques.
  • Covered tools and methodologies for digital evidence collection and analysis.
  • Speakers shared insights on latest trends in cybercrime investigation.
  • Participants learned about real-world applications of digital forensics.
    • FlagHunt CTF challenge put participant’s skills to the test.

Day 2: CTF Challenge

  • 2-hour challenge with real-world cyber security scenarios.
  • Participants solved challenges and captured flags to earn points.
  • Participants showcased their problem-solving skills and creativity.
  • Top 5 performers won exciting prizes.

A CTF challenge was conducted alongside the workshop, testing participants' skills in cybercrime investigation and problem-solving. The top 5 winners received exciting prizes:

Conclusion
