Abstract So far in India the synthesis of valuable chemical such as biodiesel and other organic chemicals are made by conventional heating techniques. The lab scale design of cavity based microwave for chemical synthesis is the area of research. Designing of microwave heat source, wave guide, and microwave probe for chemical synthesis is unexplored area. The microwave probe based chemical synthesis reduce the energy requirement, save time and also reduce the area requirement for synthesis. With the help of microwave probe based synthesis following outcomes is expected.1) Rapid synthesis of organic molecules such as biodiesel, dyes and valuable drugs having high dielectric tangent. 2) Reduction in energy requirement for synthesis due to microwave heating from inside out. 3) Time requirement for synthesis is drastically changed, which enable to develop many valuable chemicals in continuous manner. 4) The fabrication and design of microwave heat source, with wave guide and probe helps in reduction in the size of unit area requirement.
