Abstract Mechanically Actuated Continuously Variable Transmission contains a lot of rotating parts which are needed to be machined. If these parts can be removed, cost can be reduced significantly. Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission which we are developing removes maximum of parts and improves the cost and also the concept which we have referred in most of the research papers that they were using rotary actuation that means the component which actuates the mechanism are rotating itself. We have developed the mechanism in which the actuator has only one degree of freedom with the same reference plane as in referred research papers that means they are stationary. Hence rotating parts and with the help of that rotating mass moment of inertia can be reduced significantly and also the efficiency of transmission. We have also made better response by using stepper motor and better tuning of CVT.
